A few weeks ago I picked the Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition Starter Set! I’ve already been able to run Part I for two different gaming groups, and both seem to have enjoyed themselves thus far. From what I’ve played, the 5th edition rules are my favorite of all the editions–they’re intuitive and easy to learn, yet complex enough to hold my (and the players’) interest at the table. The adventure seems to be your typical first-level foray into goblins, orcs, and the like, but I haven’t had a chance to read much past Part II. The Starter Set has certainly convinced me of buying the Player’s Handbook when it goes on sale this Friday, which is pretty much exactly what an introductory box is supposed to do.
